Such great news – this has cheered me up so much & I’m glad everything has gone to plan for Tiger. Thank you for letting us know. I hope you will keep in touch – other owners need some moral support, especially when they are at the beginning of this scary journey & it really helps to hear from other people who have battled with this disease.
Well done Tiger – you are a real superstar. Adam – you are a great Dad & have been a tough fighter on Tiger’s behalf. Glad all is going well!

What a relief to hear she’s coming home – stopping the aza is a wise move – cyclo is so much safer for the “littlies”. My goodness, we all know this disease costs a bloomin’ fortune! We have a standing joke at the vets that we should have a discount card & our own seat. Good job we love them. Worzel also has an expensive heart med daily – but I wouldn’t swap him for the world.
Actually, I can see a future for Bingo & Emily doing romantic dog greeting cards – they would make a lovely 6 million dollar couple. Vally & Susie – get your camera out now!
Let us know how Emily is doing at home – she’ll be glad to be back with her Mum

CONGRATULATIONS – wonderful to see such a good PCV – you knew she was doing well though, It does show we all know how our dogs are feeling – I bet she’ll enjoy that lovely treat.
Really great news all round! It’s so much easier having a vet you can trust to do the right thing for Sassy Girl. We should not put up with poor veterinary treatment, but sometimes the circumstances make it difficult to change. But change we should & make it absolutely clear why we are not happy – in writing if necessary. There are a lot of people on here who have changed vets & never regretted it for a moment – it has been the best thing they have ever done! You have been brilliant Alyssa. Bravo.

I’m so sorry this diarrhoea is carrying on – the vets is absolutely the right place for a dog with suspected pancreatitis. Cyclosporine is much safer than azathioprine for the pancreas, so I’m glad they are looking at changing that too. We have had a few people whose dogs have has pancreatitis, probably because of the azathioprine, coupled with the pred. It does tend to be the little ones who don’t tolerate it so well.
Please let us know how she is doing – we are ALL willing with all our hearts for Susie to get through this & are behind you every minute of the day.

Thanks for the update – I was wondering how things were going & I’m delighted to read all is going very well. It’s good that they are continuing the plavix too – you cannot risk her having a clotting problem. They are resilient little souls, our dogs & cats – they have no idea they are ill & carry on life regardless. A PCV of 39 is such great news – well done Miss Gabby, soon to be Miss Birthday Girl!
Reducing the prednisone should be done carefully as you say – here is what we recommend as a safe method of lowering the dose:

Take things nice & slowly, especially as Gabby is just within normal limits AND has the clotting history. There is no point in rushing things, finding a problem or a relapse & then having to start again.

Probably me not understanding, not you! One thing at a time is goooood. I can’t wait to hear how much fun Ashki has running around with some doggie pals – that will be smashing for him. I said it before, and say it again, Sassy is such a sweetheart! Just love the picture with the towel over her head! Sorry I will not give you any input on the cbc or the chem panel, our experts have covered that. Sassy’s neck looks definitely different from before and I would get it checked out, mention it to the vet rather sooner than later. I seem to remember that an other dog had something similar, but can’t remember specifics. When I look at the pictures, to me (remember I am not a vet) it does not look like the right location for lymph nodes. They should be higher up under the ears and jaw. Sassy’s swelling looks more like on her neck. But of course it is hard to say. Could it be just fluid retention? One thing I remember from my dog being sick is that when I touched him, he just felt different. His skin, his whole body felt softer and more like pudding. It is hard to describe sorry. I am just thinking all this could be is water retention and side effects from the steroids. Their whole endocrine system is totally our of whack. This is just a gut feeling of mine and I would certainly show it to your vet. How is Sassy feeling, behaving? That would be a very good indicator how well she is.
