- Just diagnosed 7/6/25
I am thankful I stumbled upon this forum. I will be diving in tonight. Our 2yr old is on night #2 in the hospital. He has dome well with the transfusion and he is feeling better.
Hi Lennon’s mom,
I’m sorry to hear your boy is not well. There is a lot of information here. Don’t hesitate to ask anything.
I think the disease is much better recognised and treated nowadays than it was when this site started, and I hope Lennon makes a quick recovery.
The drugs they use are pretty harsh, so Lennon will look the worse for wear for a time, but once he’s in recovery mode, and the drugs are reduced, they recovery well.
Best regards,
Vally
My Reba was just diagnosed 04/08/26 we’re on 3rd day of her in hospital. She’s a 3yo Doberman. Her hemo count keeps dropping, from low 30s now to 24 when they called me with an update earlier today. Our 3rd day of her being in emergency care. Hoping the meds would turn it around without a transfusion, but it’s not looking too good. Seeing you guys and your pups having remission gives us hope in this heart wrenching time for our family. Hope all of you are doing well
Hi Josh, I’m sorry to hear about Reba.
It’s a few days later now and I really hope she’s doing better. The early days are the most important.
Sorry to be a bit slow to respond. This forum has been very quiet for a long time now, but I think the reason for that is good. Vets just know more about the disease now and how to treat it.
If you have any questions, please feel free to post.
Regards and my best, Vally
