Newly diagnosed

Our 9 month old miniature poodle, Jethro, was diagnosed last week with IMHA. He is at home slowly recovering. I can manage the meds and physical care (RN), but it’s the emotional factor we are having trouble with. Anyone else have a baby this young?

I’m so sorry to hear about Jethro. I do recall we did have a few babies over time.

Absolutely agree the emotional toll is huge, where it affects both your mind and body.

I honestly think that having gone through this with my dog, has left a lot of scars too. When anything is wrong with my current dog, Saba, I tend to immediately go into panic mode.

One thing though, doctors seem to know so much more nowadays about the disease and the proper treatment of it.

Feel free to ask questions or just vent.

Take care of Jethro, but take care of yourself too!!
