Just read your e-mail message – I’m so pleased things are looking better for Sadie on the PCV front & that she has her appetite back too. We all hate it when they don’t want to eat. I’m sure everyone else would like to hear about how she’s doing & what Dr Dodds has said too – maybe you could post about it on here when you have time – very interesting & informative for everyone. Things are looking much more positive, day by day! Wonderful news.

At last you know what is going on – glad you’ve joined K9Kidneys. It’s just a real shame that it took so long to get there & that has given you so much stress. It shows how important it is to find the right vet, which can be easier said than done! Don’t you dare leave us – we want to know how Koda is doing. We sometimes get dogs with kidney problems & IMHA, so you would be able to help if you have the time. I know you work really hard & don’t have a lot of time, but please don’t lose touch.

I’m so pleased to know that Koda is feeling a bit better and that you finally have a diagnosis. Not knowing is so hard and now you can finally begin the correct treatment to get Koda better.

Oh Tamara. Wonderful news! I am so glad he’s going back up again and feeling a bit better. Well done Ashki!

Interesting to hear about the generic cyclo. Since being on this forum I am careful with where Mable’s food and treats come from, and I’ve noticed a lot of the European ones come from the Czech Republic (which I am happy to buy). I’m sure that managing to save some money on Ashki’s meds will be very welcome!

So glad you’ve had some sleep too. Give Ashki a big well done cuddle from us.

Awe, Terri, please belive us when we say, we all understand totally. It may be that you don’t know the cause, however, treating the symptoms and your continued diligence does seem to be paying off. I swear, what caused Sadie to collapse is a guess at best. I think I know what happened, but who knows. Sadie did not regenerate until the cyclosporine kicked in, which is common. The wait and see is horrible.

Here’s hoping he continues to feel better. I hope, soon, you’re walking around with a big, stupid grin because of even slightest improvement. Keep the faith – you’re going to get through all this. I had to, and still have to, keep reminding myself of that.

Just to add to what Vally said – Worzel slowly went downhill over a couple of months & our vets couldn’t find anything wrong – until I asked for a CBC & then it was obvious. It was seeing the specialist who knew what he was doing that made the difference. Because of the rarity of the disease, “local” vets don’t pick up on what it is very easily & it can be a combination of many things that sends them over the edge into bone marrow failure. Getting the right treatment & help is the trick & you have a really good vet on your side already. Keep your chin up & let us know if you are worried about anything.
