- Split – Sadie Relapse
Hi all. I am in GA watching my one and three year old grandchildren. My hand and finger are still in bad shape. Crazy enough.
Then this morning, Safie was “off” and her mouth was not the beautiful pink that it has been. I knew…..
I called my son’s vet, gathered up the children and off we went. Her PCV was 23. He put her on 20mg of Prednisone and we’ll test her Monday morning before I drive back home.
Both children down for a nap- well, one fown and the other having some “quiet time” – right. So now that I don’t have to show a strong face, I just lost it and am in tears.
Bless her heart – she was doing so good. I’m trying to keep her calm, not easy with two toddlers. I will keep you posted.
Much love to all,
Linda and Sadie
Linda,
I’m so so sorry to hear about sweet Sadie’s relapse.. She and you are an inspiration on this forum and to all of us and our fur babies fighting. Keep strong for her and yourself, though I can’t even know what devastation you are feeling. You’re so wonderful for catching it so soon though. I’m praying for you and sweet Sadie.. Fingers toes tails and paws crossed for yall! Keep us posted!
Xoxo hope and steve
Hi Linda, I know I’m new to the forum but I am so sorry to hear about Sadie’s relapse.
Please know you & Sadie are in my thoughts and prayers!

Oh Linda, I am so sorry to read this, but well done for catching it early.
I’m sure you must be in pieces and it must be very difficult trying to keep a brave face around the kids.
What dose of pred was Sadie down to before this? Let’s just hope this is a “blip” and she’ll soon be back to her old self. What are the plans now? Are you in GA long?
Sending huge hugs to you and dear little Sadie from across the pond. Please do keep us posted when you can.
Thinking of you,
Mary & Mable x
Hi Linda,
I am so sorry. But….. you caught it early, your observation skills are brilliant! Sadie beat this before and will beat it again.
Best wishes and lots of healing vibes for Sadie,
Brigitte
Hi all. Thank you. It means so much having you all. No one around me really gets it.
Sadie seems to have a bit more color this afternoon and this evening. Back to the checking every ten minutes, poor girl. She just wAnts to be on the floor though, not next to me. Maybe the pred is kicking in already and she’s feeling the heat already.
She was on 2.5 daily – has been for over a month. NIw we’re at 20mg daily. The rude back on Monday will take about 4 hours, but I typically stop at leasr once for her (and me) to stretch. I don’t hurry. But I really want to be home…..I can deal with all this MUCH better on my own turf.
It’s amazing how we get to read our fur children. W just know, don’t we, when they’re not right.
When Sadie jumped off the bed this morning, she immediately looked sallow. Not right at all. Then she wouldn’t eat – NOT like her at all! O
My grandchildren here are toddlers and tantrums and crying are continual. Heck, my nerves are shot – it may have taken a toll on her too!!! So Monday morning – HOME. :)
She’s been doing so well – she’s an amazing little girl – we’ll get through this. Your thoughts and love help so much.
Love and huge hugs,
Linda and Sadie
