- Split – Sadie Relapse
Hi Linda
Relieved to hear you’re back safely. Oh, Sadie baby chasing birds? Good on the enthusiasm front, but not the bashing herself though, bless her. I suspect the heavy breathing could be both the infection & the pred myself – we all feel diabolical when we have the flu or something similar, so it’s not surprising she’s a bit lethargic, the little darling.
Doxycycline is good stuff, Linda – the best if any tick diseases are suspected & good in case of any secondary bacterial infections that can creep in on top of viral infections, but it gave Worzel tummy ache big time. His doses of sucralfate settled him down, but during the gap we had to leave between meds, I know he was very uncomfortable from his stretching out full length & fidgeting.
I will be thinking of you tomorrow – hope all will go well at the vets. Sending you all our love & cuddles in the meantime

Hi Linda
So pleased that you are home safely, and that lovely Sadie is a little bit brighter. Are you thinking that she has some sort of infection? I didn’t realise she was on cough suppressant?
I completely agree with Sheena about doxy being excellent but very harsh on the stomach, and I know Sadie already suffers with GI problems – will she be on sucralfate with this?
It sounds as though her PCV has risen over the weekend? I do hope so. I’m sure she is going to get through this, but it must be a very worrying time for you.
Mable and I are sending lots of love over to you and Sadie, and hoping for good news very soon.

Linda,
Don’t know how I missed your troubles. It just appeared in my email.
The peaks of this disease are helpful but the valleys almost kill you.
It sounds like your climbing the hill and Sadie is back on a hood road. God bless. Thinking of you.

Hi Linda, so sorry to read that Sadie has had a relapse. I have been following her progress throughout and know how far she has come. I’m sure that you can both beat this – she certainly couldn’t ask for a more vigilant and caring Mum. Thinking of you both .
Love
Claire

Hi Linda,
So sorry to hear about Sadie’s relapse. As everyone mentioned before, you’re the best: you caught this early on. Hopefully things are better now that you’re at home.
Let us know how you and Sadie are doing. We’re with you in this fight.
Love,
Anne-Marie and Bilbo
