- Split – Sadie Relapse
Hi all. I am so, so sorry for being out of touch for so long. All is good – just busy. We had a new air/heat, compressor and handler – put in this week and now we’re trying to figure out (well, the ac folks are learning with me, scarey) how to set it up to do remotely. Apparently, this is their first time doing it – which is even scarier than me trying to do it. :)
New roof Monday. And Christmas shopping (way too many children, this old lady in the shoe….). But other than that – feeling better and so is my little girl, Sadie. Her PCV yesterday was 46. Bless her pea-pickin little heart. I am always amazed at how fast she responds. We’re down to 10mg of prednisone daily, 5mg in AM and 5mg in PM. She shot up three points when I weaned this last time, last week, from 43. Huge smile.
Although, last week I did rush her to the vet. She had a lump on her back the size of a quarter and it was oozing “stuff” and looked infected. It came up overnight. I rushed her to the vet thinking it was a tumor/cyst. Nope. We think a flea bit her and it really bothered her and chewed it (she never chews or scratches for that matter) and created a hot-spot. They gave me ointment and some cleaning pads and $99.00 later, we are healing. I hope that’s all it is. Poor girl has a shaved square right in the middle of her behind now. Oh, and I found the flea, believe it or not – HUGE flea. Yep – I killed that nasty fella.
Tis the season – I think I am beginning to hate Christmas and all the commercialism.
I hope everyone is doing well. Love and huge hugs to all,
Ms. Scrooge and Sadie
Hi Linda
I am thrilled Sadie’s doing so well – she’s one tough little baby – it’s great to hear such good news. Damn fleas are horrible things & that sounds like a nasty bite. How’s your finger doing? Scrooge your are definitely NOT!
Sending you & Sadie Baby love & hugs from us all

Hi all. I was so excited about Sadie’s PCV, I didn’t tell you that my finger is on the mend. It’s very crooked and not at all pleasing to the eye, does not bend worth a toot, but I can type a bit better. However, my wedding band still will not fit on the finger next to it that took a jolt too. I still walk VERY cautiously – uncoordinated ol gal that I am. Walking Sadie, I wave to everyone, of course – that’s just me – but I don’t look up, nope – eye’s forward and down. :)
The cough – it is still hanging on – but it’s that way with many around me, so I guess it’s going around here. No one seems to be able to kick this nasty thing and in talking, we all will excuse ourselves and cough. It’s pretty funny, actually. You know – the proper into the middle of the inner arm thing. We’ve all been on Z-packs and cough meds and we’re still hacking. The good news is, that I have some how managed NOT to give it to my 99 year old father, thank goodness. Nor my husband. And of course, thank goodness too, that our pets don’t catch our ailments.
So, Sadie continues to care for her mom (me) and I continue to take care of her (and my husband, dad, step-mother, children, grandchildren, etc.). The way it should be. :)
Here’s to health for us all, human and fur kind – especially in this, tis-the-season.
Much love, Linda and Sadie
