Hi Joe. I am thinking about you and Nauset and hope she’s doing okay.
Sending our love and stay-well wishes,
Linda and Sadie
Hi Joe, I am thinking about you and Nauset. She is so lucky to have you. Sending positive vibes!! Love Tara and Diablo
Hi Joe – How is Nauset doing? You have not posted in a while……PLEASE let us know.
Thinking of you both, as always. Our love,
Linda & Sadie
Hi my dear Friends,
I tried to post from my phone a week or so ago and it just would not send. My phone is possessed.
Nauset is trying to be more active. I hope we can kill the baby worms but it could take up to a year. Now she is too heaving and needs to lose 5-6 lbs. It was probably from the Prednisone.
She is a very sweet dog.
I don’t come here quite as much because of Dunes. It hurts a lot and probably always will. I know it sounds selfish. I wish this website would catch on – it is so much better than the Facebook thing.
I want to send Patrice a donation. She is a blessing.
I get the posts on Facebook about pups losing their fight. It is so depressing. God blessed me with Dunes and I got to keep her 5 years. It incurred terrible debt but I would do it again. In the end -she had pneumonia and was having a hard time breathing, the kidney values were indicating failure. I stayed with her as you all well know.
But you know it is so counter to what I did for 5 years that it kills me. Why could God just not take her in her sleep. I prayed for 5 years that it would happen like that when the time came.
So folks enjoy your pups. Don’t give up. Seems like most are doing okay. I do love Nauset very much and am not sorry that I got her even if she is ill. It is just not the same and I guess I would not want it to be.
So I write this way and am sorry for dumping. Trying to adjust. I care for all of you -ALL.
Joe
Dearest, dearest Joe. You are NOT dumping. I adore every word you write – it comes directly from the heart.
Joe, there is no replacement for Dunes. Not ever. And the pain will last a long time, if not a lifetime. I am so very sorry.
I think of you, I think of Megan and her precious Sophie – and it crushes me. I know you felt helpless, and so did Megan, but you both continued your undaunting care and love and your perseverance never strayed, no matter how it tore you up or the financial burden. I am so proud to be your friend. I wish just a smidgen of your love and devotion could be bottled and sold – more precious than gold.
I know none of this helps but know – I think I can speak for us all when I say – we feel your pain and loss. I so wish there was something I could do to ease what you’re feeling.
Please don’t stay away. Your advice from what your endured is so valuable. Perhaps, you will find some relief in knowing that you did, have and continue to help others.
Bless you Joe and thank you for your loyalty.
Love and huge hugs, Linda
Dear Joe,
I feel honored to be called your friend! The compassion you show to every dog that comes into your life is an inspiration and makes me so happy.
I totally agree with you that this webpage/forum is so much better than the FB. I think that Patrice is just not ready yet to open it up to the general public, she still wants to finish the slide show. If you want to donate a small amount to her cause I know she will appreciate it very much. She wants to improve the graphics and would like to pay someone a small honorarium for doing this. if you check on the right side just below the pictures there is a tab, “make a donation”. I think every little bit would help her out.
I have sent most people from FB that lost their dog to “The Bridge” so far I gotten lots of good feed back.
Hang in there Joe! Nauset is a very lucky pup to have you by her side. I am sure she knows and feels that and pays you back in unconditional love.
Best wishes,
Brigitte
Dear Joe
Just want to send my best wishes to you and Nauset. I know how terribly difficult it is to have lost a beloved pet to this terrible disease, and you are doing such a wonderful job in caring for Nauset. She is so, so lucky to have you as her owner. I can’t imagine how much you must miss Dunes, but you are doing a wonderful thing in caring for Nauset so well.
With our love and best wishes,
Mary and Mable x
Oops the posts seem to have gone out of place.
Joe, don’t apologise for sharing your feelings. We all so understand the bond that develops and binds us to our pets. I’ve really loved all my previous dogs, but Bingo, possibly because he is so insecure and then also became so sick, is really wrapped in my heart. I know your love for Dunes was one of the special bonds.
Hoping Nauset continues to improve each day.
Love Vally & Bingo
