- Dora has a new friend
Came down this morning to shredded newspaper, an upturned chair and a shirt of mine on the floor; serves me right for not picking everything up! Dora is a bit bemused, wondering what this whippersnapper is up to, but it is keeping her mind off her grief.
Hi Lynda
I’m SO pleased to see that you have a new little girl in your life. You and Consuelo are so brave after all you have been through. As has already been said, no-one will ever replace Honey, but I’m so happy Shona has found herself a happy and loving home with you. How is Dora getting on with her? So sorry also about Tiger. I know you were expecting it, but I don’t think it makes it any easier.
Mable is a newspaper shredder too, but is yet to rearrange the furniture. Thank you for letting us know about Shona. I will have a look at her pictures on Facebook.
Much love, Mary and Mable x
Today started with tears afresh, as I went downstairs to see all the dog beds where they should be – Honey always shook them to death when I arrived downstairs. But we have Shona to keep us occupied….. learning that No! means no; come here means, well I might get a treat; that I am not supposed to pinch things off the (human) dinner table – oh, and that I perhaps shouldn’t get quite so boisterous around Dora.
Life with a dog who is still really a puppy is never dull……… And we are soon to make sure we have an eventful time. We had planned a few days holiday (how we need it!!) next week in our caravan. So Shona will have to be introduced to the joys of camping. Will keep you all posted!
Awwwwh, Shona is a REALLY cheeky girl then! No manner, these pups. It reminds me of Worzel when we first adopted him – he stole everything possible from anywhere including the kitchen work surfaces. He grabbed Phil’s pizza (hee hee, not mine!) & ran off with it & had the most triumphant look I’ve ever seen in a dog – he is a born thief. Now he has become sneakily clever – he only does it when he is absolutely certain you’re not around to see him. He scoffed the remains of a strawberry cake while we were out of the room (30 seconds?) & we were convinced that we & our guests must have finished it ourselves until I spotted a pink streak right up the side of his face! Poor Ollie just looked appalled & horrified at him.
Have a great caravan trip – you really do need a break. Look forward to hearing the Shona & Dora tales when you get back.
Lynda & Consuelo,
congratulations on the new addition to the family! Shone will keep you on your toes and smiling. A new dog always brings changes, different dynamics and energy. You are ready for it and a camping trip sounds like just the thing you need. Have a wonderful time making beautiful memories!
Love Brigitte
Oh Lynda, this is lovely to see! Such a gorgeous girl! No dog can ever replace another, but I’m sure Honey and Tiger would understand that there’s love in your hearts with nowhere to go and that you needed a positive focus. And giving a rescue dog a loving home is a lovely thing to do. It’s lovely reading what Shona has been up to! Puppies really are toddlers! I really hope you all enjoy your break! And I’m looking forward to more pics! Xxxxxx
