- Dora has a new friend
Well, Dora has a new friend. She came with us to the rescue kennel, and met a few potential pals. But the one she seemed to interact with most was Shona, an 18 month old lurcher. So Shona is now home with us!
So far, we have jumped up and nearly knocked the butter dish over, started to chew a slipper and discovered where the doggy biscuits live…..

We are still deeply grieving for Honey, but we would like to think that she helped guide us all to offer a home to Shona xx
Lynda – lovely to read that Dora has Shona to play with now – she sounds like a right little character! You know I love greyhounds & lurchers dearly, so I am over the moon to see Shona is with you now – no dog could ask for kinder owners & I’m SURE Honey has had a part to play in this. I hope you & the new addition to your wonderful family will have lots of fun together.
Love Sheena, Worzel & Ollie
Thanks….. from what we have seen so far, I think we will have to take ornaments etc up from lower levels tonight…… it’s like having a toddler in the house!
We did have to have Tiger PTS this afternoon, as I expected, so at least having Shona is taking our minds off this dreadful time
Oh Lynda, your sadness goes on – very, very sorry about Tiger. Glad Shona is around to keep you occupied – she has definitely been sent to you lovely people for a good reason. Please give Shona & Dora a big hug from me. I wish I could give you & Consuelo a big hug after all you’ve been through, but I can only send kind thoughts across the English Channel to you both.
Love to all, Sheena, Worzel & Ollie
Hi Lynda and Consuelo. A new pup – goodness, yes – just like a toddler for sure! But hopefully, it will be short lived and she’ll get the message, hands off. :) I’m so very happy for you all – congratulations fur moms and Dora!! I know Dora and Shona will be great buddies.
I am sorry to hear about Tiger. As Sheena says, you two (and Dora too) have been through so much. Please know I am still think of Honey, always will. But, somehow, I feel Honey and Tiger will know each other in this new afterlife (is that too weird?), and together, happy. I know that Shona is in no way, a replacement for Honey. Honey can never replaced, but Shona will undoubtedly be a comfort and wonderful companion for Dora, you and Consuelo. It will be so nice to see this new relationship bloom and grow. Please, keep us posted. AND, when able, let us see a picture. I will also check out Consuelo’s FB page too. :)
I am such a push over for adopted dogs and cats – so I am thrilled that you and Consuelo have done this. You are both wonderful people and Shona is so fortunate to have a new forever home filled with love AND such an awesome big sister.
Please keep us posted on the shenanigans of your new gal. With this horrible disease and all we deal with daily on this forum, a story to bring a smile is always welcome. :)
Love and hugs, Linda and Sadie

I looked on FB – Shona is a real beauty, as is the gorgeous Dora. Shona looks cheeky & inquisitive, mind you. It’s strange – Worzel is the only dog we’ve ever had that’s not black – we’ve always taken the black ones because no-one else seems to want them as much – weird! I LOVE black dogs – it looks like you do too. I better say I love brown & white ones as well, though, otherwise Worzel may read this later & get upset! Actually, I don’t really care what colour they are – if they need a home, well, they need a home. Keep us posted on what miss Shona’s been up to.

Lynda, I’m so glad you’ve brought Shona home. She looks and sounds like a real character and I’m sure she is what Dora and you both need.
Yes, please let us know how she settles in and whether she decides she needs to move any ornaments or furniture around to suit her taste. She may be a great designer :)
