Oh Sadie, you are keeping your Mum on her toes! And what is this about a mushroom?? Linda – I am sure you are worried but please do hang on to those positive thoughts. It’s excellent that the vets are not too concerned and Sadie’s PCV remains stable.
Please don’t feel bad that she hasn’t had a CBC recently. There always has to come a time when the frequency of these things is reduced, and some sort of “normality” is resumed.
I am unsure about the lip smacking and loose stools but I am sure another dog owner can help here? I would take it as a great sign that she seems ok in herself. Keeping everything crossed that this is a minor infection and the WBC’s will soon return to normal. Do let us know.

Hi Linda
I’m so sorry to hear that Sadie is having problems. Just as you hit the one year mark. Will reply on your post, but definitely do keep on with those positive thoughts. So, so important.
It would be really helpful if you wouldn’t mind asking your daughter about what she uses with her cat, if that’s ok? Mable has such a strong reaction to the Stronghold I can’t help wondering if it’s the best thing (it’s the only time she’s ever hissed at me!) Good on your daughter and her husband for helping out at the local shelter. I looked into helping out with the cats locally after Molly died, but as yet have done no more about it. The shelters do such a wonderful job and I know they need all the help they can get.
Will head on over to see what’s happening with Sadie now….
Thanks again,

Hi Tara
Sorry to hear you are feeling down, but it does sound as though Diablo is slowly on the mend and it is excellent to hear that he has his appetite back.
Mable and I just want to send our best wishes that he carries on making progress and is soon back to normal

Ahh congratulations Sadie! That is fantastic – definitely something to celebrate.
How is Bingo doing Vally? I admire your ability to cut a prednisolone tablet into 8 – that takes some skill! I quite understand your thinking though. I love the thought of Bingo dancing, and second the idea that you should write a book! I hope the weather is starting to cool off a bit for him.
We will carry on keeping our fingers and paws crossed for the 4 week mark and excellent blood results.

Hi Linda
Thank you so much for this information. I really like the sound of these more natural products, so will see if they ship to the UK. Mable continues without any treatment but with regular grooming at present. She is a happy cat today, having had a long day out in the sunshine.
I have never heard of the waterless shampoo for cats and dogs so will definitely look through the site!
Thanks again,

Hi Linda
I have to confess to laughing just a bit at the “mushroom incident”! Only because it reminds me of ME being just as paranoid about Worzel licking a plate that had had sauce with a tiny amount of ONION in it! We can’t help being the way we are & only between ourselves can we understand each other’s worries.
Dropping the 1.25 mg evening dose after a couple more weeks with a stable PCV and keeping the 5mg morning dose the same would be an approximate 20% reduction, so that would be nice & cautious & is what I would personally go for. At the end of the day, you must go with your gut instinct though – if you want to do it more slowly, that’s fine too. Better slower than too quick if Sadie’s doing fine in herself.
