Hmm. Not sure what happened here as I typed up a longer reply than that ^^^ on iPhone and it’s disappeared! Nevermind.
Mable says well done Worzel! (and Ollie of course). Mable’s next jabs are due in September, so we’ll cross that anxiety-provoking bridge later in the year. Today it is 4 months since Molly died and so it is really nice to hear good news from others, especially today.
I’m not quite sure how one would tackle intra-vascular vs. bone marrow IMHA in French. I can barely remember how to ask for an ice-cream…..But excellent to hear that the other local IMHA dog is doing well :)
What’s the idea behind the chlorhexidine paws and boiling duvets? Mable is hiding as we speak.
I’m delighted to hear your news and that the vet has no concerns about Worzel. You and Phil must be over the moon.
Much love, the M’s x
Vally – you’ve made my day – Bingo, you are the best boy for your Mum. Brilliant. Worzel & Ollie are really happy to hear the good news & are grinning from ear to ear! I am glad the liver enzymes are looking so good – ALT down nicely & TBIL normal too. Whooopeeeee!
Love Sheena & the boys.
PS – I will post when we get back from the vets this afternoon – that’s the trouble with different times zones – my today is your tomorrow? Or is it yesterday?!!!!
Mmmm, I’m not worried either & my pants are burning as we speak!!!! Good call on the thyroid. I will get it checked. It is EXACTLY like when he was on the pred though – very strange. Will let you know what the vet says – I am seeing my favourite one tomorrow – he is really interested in Worzel & IMHA as he used to work with our specialist in Bordeaux …. and he’s very nice to look at too!
Oh Vally, you know I will be thinking about you tomorrow & crossing everything. I think Bingo’s liver enzymes look pretty OK, especially considering the length of time he has been taking these drugs as well.
Worzel has his check up tomorrow too. Let’s hope everything is relatively normal for them both. I have had to up Worzel’s food as he was starting to lose weight. Strangely, his skin has gone black again. I have read that steroids continue their effects over a YEAR after taking them. He still gets new little hard spotty lumps (like stones) which must be calcinosis, I suppose.
Patrice has given great advice – don’t you dare worry – if Bingo is feeling fine, he IS fine. Our vet scared me last time about Worzel’s creatinine being high, but them I remembered greyhounds have a naturally high level (up to 1.6 times more than “normal”), so the vets are not always “right”!
Wishing you loads of luck

Hi Linda
There’s no easy answer. I am not personally experienced with atopica either, but it obviously upsets her tummy so I can understand why you want to cut it out. I still think the pred is more of a problem with the weakness side of things though & hope you can continue cut it down (I know – slowly!) I can’t tell you how much the sudden difference in Worzel was when we got him onto a very small dose & eventually off the pred, but I know the relapse word is in the back of your mind too. I think Brigitte is right – ask Dr Dodds – I bet she wouldn’t mind at all.

Very sad news – I am really upset to hear about poor Mattie & send you all my deepest sympathy. Please know you were doing everything you possibly could to help her. This disease is notoriously evil. Again, I’m so sorry for your loss. I know good memories of her will come back in time because you loved her so very much.
Thinking of you all
Sheena
Hi Linda,
Hmmm… what does your vet say? I don’t see a problem contacting Dr. Dodds about this, especially since you have spoken to her before. She would probably be happy to hear Sadie is doing pretty good. I think it would be ok to stop the Atopica all together, but like I said before I am absolutely no expert on it. I know it is the holidays and you can not contact your vet unless it is an emergency but come Tuesday you could call her/him and get some input.
Best wishes,
Brigitte
