Hi Ruth
I bet it was lovely to have a cuddle! You must be completely shattered. This is a really tough time for you – none of us want to see our animals like this. They are not in pain, just very, very tired. It will take time for the Atopica to kick in, so you do have to be really patient, like Vally was. Nula will be poorly for quite a while & we can help you through this. I’m sure you will get inspiration from reading about others going through the same thing. It has cheered me up no end to hear that the treatment is going to plan now & I hope Nula will be able to come home to lots of love & attention soon. Miracles really do happen, Ruth. Bingo got through it – Nula can too.
Please let us know when you have any more news – thinking of you & send all our best wishes & cuddles to Nula
Sheena, Worzel & Ollie xxxx
Hi all Ollie got over his jab very well & is looking chubby still! Worzel is hopping along quite happily, but I have to put a plastic bag on his foot when he goes in the garden – this freaks him out a bit & he does look funny. How he did it? Just running very, very fast & then slipping, I think. I’ll try & get a photo of him for you. Thanks for all the kind messages!
Love to all from Sheena, Hoppity & Chubbie
hello Ladies,
I am too the paranoid doggie mom and nothing from China goes over my dogs lips:) I bought a dehydrator and love making treats from beef liver, heart and all kinds of meats. My dogs also get meaty bones, chicken & turkey necks raw. They really keep their teeth clean:) Haven’t tried the bully sticks but they sound interesting:)

Hi Marcella
How is Emberlee doing now? It is so difficult to see them so unwell, and I completely understand that it is also financially difficult. I think Sheena made a really good point about possibly trying diuretics to make her more comfortable. Would this be something you could discuss with your vet?
I just wanted to say how much I am thinking of you and Emberlee, and to send you our love and best wishes.

Oh Linda, fabulous news! I am so pleased and it’s no wonder you’ve had a great big grin all day! Go Sadie! (I think she deserves a Bully Stick for her excellent test results!)
Thanks for thinking of me re: the vet’s cat. This is a difficult question for sure, especially when we know Sadie hasn’t been so happy with the Atopica, but then the Prednisolone does have it’s long term effects. I wonder if there is any data on this. Molly was on Chlorambucil in addition to her Prednisolone. I remember asking about Cyclosporine and Azathioprine, and from what I recall, the Azathioprine was toxic to cats, but I cannot remember the reason given for Chlorambucil over Cyclosporine, other than it being their protocol. Something for me to research I think.
Again, so very pleased to hear your good news. Keep it up Sadie, you good girl!

Hi Ruth
So glad to hear that you had some time together with Nula today (and that she is on the Atopica!). I am sure she was very happy to see you and have cuddles. It’s very disheartening when you visit and they won’t eat for you. I remember it well. Try not to be upset by this though, as her appetite may still be stunted from the anaemia, as well as being away from home. Try again tomorrow, little and often. If she doesn’t want the food, move it away from her, and then try again a little later.
Please know that we all completely understand how difficult this is. It really is a rollercoaster, with good news and bad news being thrown at you constantly. But hang in there, you are doing all the right things, and she is one lucky girl to have such a loving owner. I hope that tonight’s transfusion will perk her up and you will see a difference in her tomorrow.
Lots of love and positive vibes from us to you,
Mary and Mable x
