- Welcome To Second Chance AIHA Dog Forum!
Patrice – I don’t know you *yet* — I know Johnny from back when Sadie & Tessy were both battling IMHA from the Dog.com forum (there is still a huge almost 600 page “AIHA or IMHA” thread despite the fact that the board has gone thru a major … um .. “re-structure”) and then I’ve done some on Facebook (ugh to FB) where I’ve run into Trisha Poe and Brigitte. My Billy (a buffy Eng. cocker) had the 3 best years of his life post-IMHA. I lost him to a mega heart attack will be 3 years ago in March.
This Forum is absolutely, positively incredible. Patrice what you have done is … wow. A real place for finding information — giving and getting information. Not just “support” (and that is critical as well but there is such a massive, huge, critical need for information that goes way beyond ‘Oh, I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this’).
My husband, David, and I truly recognize the need for that support, but this is **more** Patrice and that is incredible.
This website will help save lives. It will help get information OUT there — and hopefully the more we get information out there, the more proactive people can be.
Your vision humbles me. It’s obvious to me just by the folks I see here — many of us have been thru the worst these auto-immune/immune-mediated diseases have to throw at us. And beyond — just because my Billy now waits for me up on Rainbow Bridge (and trust me — he’s gotten the angels organized and there is now a place up there where it **rains** tennis balls every afternoon.) — just because he’s gone doesn’t mean my passion to help people get thru this disease with their animals has dimmed.
Every dog we help honors Billy, and Chance, and Sadie & Tessy, and and and so many others.
Thank you … and at the risk of sounding just a tad old-fashioned and “Vulcan” — may this website ‘Live Long and Prosper’!!!
Callie – it is WONDERFUL to see your post. I think of you often and ever so thankful for all your help with Sadie. She is doing great to date (remaining on milk thistle, slippery elm). We are continuing the weaning – down to the nitty-gritty. Fingers, paws crossed.
I hope you stay with us here, Trisha too – along with Brigitte. This site will most certainly prove to be informative and encouraging. Patrice continues to put in long, grueling hours and Sheena, Vally and Brigitte have contributed so much too.
Love and hugs, Linda and Sadie
Hi Friends,
I sincerely hope all my friends and their pups are doing well!
Nauset will never be perfectly healthy but she is a sweet dog. She loves me so much and I do love her. She is very needy and paws me without stopping because she wants me to pet her. God forbid if I stop.My sweet Dunes used to paw me like that.
How I wish Dunes was here. I wish I would dream about her so I could feel like we were together. I love rading the little successes the dogs are making. I know the frantic feeling when something is wrong.
Everyone take care.
Love
Joe
Lovely to see this website up and running. I found out today that vet net is no longer and so glad that Patrice is still helping people who are desperate for answers. I will always remember from vet net days that “Patrice knew everything that you need to know”. Well done Patrice for keeping the help coming. The wealth in information on vet net will live on here.
