Hi Tara,
this is a wonderful story, sad but still very nice and comforting. I loved the idea for the dog to have this one last day. Unfortunately my last two dogs would have never been able to have this one last day.One was a very old girl, I spent the last day at home with her. Her on the couch, me just going about my daily business, stopping every few minutes at the couch to cuddle with her and tell her how much I loved her. The other one was of course Kahlu my AIHA dog. His last day (and night) we spent on the floor, because he was so weak. I did not realize it was his last day, there was always that glimmer of hope. I think that we all wish that they would die at home in their sleep. but we know that that happens very rarely. I know that your journey will be different from all of mine and all of the ones we see on line, because it is YOUR and Diablo’s journey. Diablo is such a lucky boy to have someone as caring as you by his side!
