Hi Tara
So HAPPY to hear Diablo is stable now – crossing everything that he is on the mend now. Don’t you dare feel guilty about thinking about yourself & your boy – you have had such a rough & stressful time. I bet he looks even more handsome after his beauty treatment!
Every time Worzel throws up or gets diarrhea, I panic a bit too! It’s only natural to worry that it’s something sinister when they have been so ill before.
Look after yourselves & let us know how things are going when you can.
Loads of love & hugs, Sheena, Worzel & Ollie too.
Hi Tara. Good to hear he’s ‘stable’ and seems to be doing well. I understand the concern over the crate uinating, but you know, on the pred, sometimes they just can not hold it. I don’t know if you remember, but Sadie went through that with both uinating and pooping. It was defiantly muscle atrophy and with the med weaning, oh my goodness, much better. Can leave her for 6-7 hours. I most likely could leave longer, but I swear she does not move from the front door while I’m gone, just waiting patiently to SEE me return. Six-seven hours stresses me, but sometimes necessary. She’s back to good in that way, so hopefully with Diablo, it’s the same.
Did he vomit again? I hope that subsides too. Keep us posted. Just a quick note – I know posting is time consuming…..I get immersed.
Love and hugs to you and Diablo,
Linda and Sadie
Hello, Diablo still stable…no more vomit or night time bathroom accidents. I just noticed that my SAMe has changed…anybody familiar with this…..I am nervous because I believe it the milk thistle but now they are adding licorice root?? A Complete Liver Support Solution Starts at the Root – LICORICE ROOT!
Licorice Root and Quercetin have been added to our New SAMeLQ formula. Each have superior properties to Milk Thistle (Silymarin) as shown in clinical studies. The combination of Licorice Root, Quercetin and the ingredients of the original Sogeval S-Adenosyl formulation, provide a complete, multi-modal approach to liver support.
Look forward to any opinions or info. – thanks!!!
Tara, I have read that licorice is good for the liver and had considered getting some as a supplement. I was taking licorice tablets at one stage for heartburn.
I too would be nervous about a change in the product though. See what others are doing. I use Denosyl (which is what Bingo’s vet put me on) and only in the last 6 weeks added milk thistle tablets.
Love Vally & Bingo.
Hi Tara
Just wanted to say how pleased I am to hear that Diablo is doing so much better. That really is fantastic news, and I am sure a huge relief for you. Really pleased also that there have been no further episodes of vomiting, and I do wonder, as Linda suggested, if the prednisolone effects might have contributed to him urinating in his crate, bless him.
I’m afraid I don’t have any knowledge about SAMe but quite understand your concern. Hoping some of the others can help advise you on this.
Love and best wishes,
Mary & Mable x
Hi Tara. I am smiling ear-to-ear! So glad he’s ‘mending’ and you feel he’s looking better. Great news. Continue on Diablo. :)
I put this in Vally’s post, I knew I’d gotten an e-mail with someone inquiring about SAM-e. Sorry Vally. I use CellFood SAM-e, made by a Florida company, Lumina Health. Callie Kennedy recommended it and glad she did.
I can usually get a good price on Amazon, but it still runs anywhere from $29-$34, expensive for that little bottle. Sadie is 38 pounds and I give her 11 drops – talked with company, they recommended the dose. It is human grade. I think Sadie is the first dog that they know about that takes it. So far, so good.
I give the CellFood SAM-e to Sadie in the AM and PM, so 22 drops a day And it a give or take thing, so one less or more drop us no big deal.
I hope this helps a bit. Again, so glad to read about Diablo. I hate that he’s reluctant to walk outside, but I just bet that won’t last too long. Keep those positive thoughts!!! I am!
Love and hugs, Linda and Sadie
Hi Tara. I just lost an entire post to you. But wanted to at least get this back to you. I’m sending the link to the SAM-e I use for Sadie. It by a company here in Florida, Lumina Health.
SO happy to hear Diablo’s doing okay. You’re a wonderful fur mom. Keep it up Diablo boy.
Love and hugs, Linda and Sadie
