I have to call the vet this a.m. He had a horrible night….vomiting all night….he can hardly walk now :(

I think his head may be tilted the opposite way this a.m. but he can hardly hold it up so I could be wrong :(

I’m so sorry Tara – this is awful news .  I hope the vet can help him get over this with some medications. Let me know how you get on at the vets if you can. I am crossing everything for Diablo & sending you all my love & best wishes,

Severe cases sometimes need hospitalisation so fluids can be maintained & vomiting treated until they are stabilised. Wishing you all the luck in the world.

Tara, I have no experience with this but on the tv show where I’ve seen this shown a couple of times, the dogs were hospitalised until stable.

Hoping the vet can get this back under control quickly.

Just returned from the vets. Picked up some cerenia. They drew blood to re-check thyroid. This vestibular episode is on opposite side – last time was on right and this one is on left. She said to give it a few more days…if no improvement or worse (and depending on thyroid results) we will have to say goodbye :( I can’t bare the thought but I can’t put him through any more. Right now he will wants to be with me so I am taking comfort in that……Dr. Dodds thinks maybe he had a stroke? My heart is broken.

Dear Tara, I was so sad to read your latest post. You got so much good advice and information and  I stayed out of the conversation because Diablo’s ordeal is something totally new to me. But please know that I read every post and was, am thinking of you and crossing my fingers that your boy has some more time with you!

I know nothing will make you feel better right now. I have worried all day about him too…. I was talking to my husband, Phil, & we both said we don’t know what we would have done if Sprockett had had another close episode like Diablo has. OK, we know dog “strokes” are different from human, but it is very distressing to see them like this & no-one can understand how awful it is if they haven’t seen it “in real life”. Please know I am with you in mind, if not in body – I wish I could help you more. All you can do is just cuddle him & be with him & do what your heart tells you to do.
