- Worzel crossed the Rainbow Bridge
Hi friends
Worzel went to join his friend Ollie over the Rainbow Bridge. He was at least 16, probably more, and survived bone marrow failure 5 years ago, living a normal life after the ravages of the long drug treatment. I hope his story gives you all MUCH HOPE that your dogs can beat this horrible disease with the right treatment. Never give up the fight – there is no reason to doubt your dogs can reach full remission, like sweet Worzel did.
Our house is empty & our hearts are completely broken. I miss him more than I can say, as I do my Ollie.
Love to all

So sorry for your loss….what a lovely inspiration his long life must have been tho for everyone battling this illness and a credit to your care and love for him.
From Anna and my angel boy sparty.
Thank you Vally & Anna – you know how much it hurts.
Everyone – please help on this website – it looks like it has been stagnant since I left over a year ago when Ollie was ill – why are you not talking to each other on this forum? It can be a life saver. It is also a comfort to those who lose a beloved pet.
Oh Sheena
Absolutely gutted to log on here and to see this sad news. I’m so sorry to hear about Worzel, and I can only imagine how heartbroken you and Phil must be feeling. You did the most amazing job getting Worzel through AIHA and your dedication to him, and Ollie, has been incredible. They are doubtless together and having all sorts of fun.
So very sorry.
Loads of love from us

Thank you for the beautiful message – we are so damn empty, but knowing the two stinkers are together is a comfort. Hoping Miss Mable is still chomping happily on prawns as & when permitted – she NEEEEEDS them you know!
Today, we took all their beds, bedding, drugs etc to a doggie retirement home called Twilight run by Leeanne & Mike. They have 31 elderly or disabled dogs in their HOUSE – no kennels – it was the most wonderful experience I’ve encountered – calm, loving, unique. No lie – all dogs are in the house & it is amazing how they all get along – one big pack. I particularly enjoyed being savaged by a spaniel puppy with razor sharp teeth who is totally blind, then being licked to death by several elderly charmers who decided my smelly feet were awfully tasty. You can visit their website
Inspirational & humbling – uplifting too. Coming home to an empty house was heartbreaking but my boys would be happy their stuff was put to good use. I hope one of them will benefit from Ollie’s anti-cancer drugs (I’m Yunity which you can read about on this site) & Worzel’s heart murmur drugs.
Thanks to all my friends on here – you will always mean the world to us.

Lovely Sheena
The Twilight home looks amazing. How wonderful to see people who are so utterly dedicated to their cause. I’m sure it was a deeply moving experience. So lovely of you to take all Worzel and Ollie’s things, where they will no doubt be put to excellent use and help plenty of pups in need. That was such a thoughtful thing to do, and takes courage too.
There is nothing much that can be said which will ease the pain you and Phil are suffering right now. They are such a part of our family, and our lives, that everything feels different when they have gone. Take time, and be kind to yourselves. You have been such a tower of strength, both for Worzel and Ollie, and for countless people here too. I never shall forget the support you gave me with Molly, and am eternally grateful. Mable is also grateful to you for introducing her to prawns.
Doubtless, Worzel and Ollie are together somewhere, running around like loons and reunited in each other’s company. I hope you and Phil are able to find some comfort in knowing what wonderful lives you gave them, and so many more animals. You are remarkable people.
Buckets of love from us. Thinking of you so much.
