- Polyarthritis back?
Hi all my crazy paranoid dog people.
No incidents since Monday (way too early) morning. I think the heat could possibly be a factor. The nights are hot enough to be unpleasant and I think he really feels the heat.
Thinking of taking a squirt bottle to bed with me and squirting him during the night – won’t he love that. I’ll get some payback anyway.
Had some friends over last night – church meeting – I warned them my place isn’t the best place for a meeting as Bingo mucks up and starts barking around 9.00 for food and goes on until bed. Its all right they said. Don’t worry about it. They were warned.
Come about 9pm (probably 5 minutes earlier as his clock runs fast), he starts. To shut him up I give him his supper. Well that just encourages him. I had to keep some kibble beside me the whole time (about 2 hours) and give it to him every now and then. Whenever I got too slow though, he’d start off again. He is so rude!!! Of course he ate too much and at 4am he needs to go out and do a poo.
I suspect I’ll never sleep properly again – that squirt bottle idea appeals. Mwaaaaaah.
Love Vally & flea bitten.
Love the squirt bottle! We’ve been e-mailing – hugs to you and Bingo!
PS – Bingo, let your mommy sleep!!
Sheena, the pimples are getting smaller. I’m now fairly certain they are likely to be flea bites.
Bloody neighbour, who has now moved out, had 2 beautiful German Shepherds pups (one of them is in the photo with Bingo on the photo slides). He didn’t look after them at all – no basic training, he believed they were free spirits. Always getting out the front fence as it was never properly secured, and running off. Just a few days before he moved out, they went missing for 2 days before someone found them. No collars, tags, certainly no microchips. In the process of moving house, he’d leave these 2 large dogs in the front yard which was tiny where they would bark all day and just scratch. They’d be there all day and all night. He didn’t clean up after them for weeks at a time. I realise he was busy moving at this time but….
Enough ranting. The new people have come in and sprayed as the house was flea infested. The people further down again were telling me yesterday they all have fleas and they don’t even have pets!
I combed about 100 fleas off Bingo yesterday. One jumped off me at work this morning onto my desk – blaaaagh.
I’m using the stuff Lynn recommended, Vet something…. more often at the moment to try and keep on top of it, Bingo hates it.
Why do people bother to have dogs & behave like that? Poor dogs. Here, there are people who chain their dogs up all the time & others that let them wander around, including in the road. It’s maddening & irresponsible. Thankfully most people do take good care of their pets though. Fleas are a real nuisance – glad you’ve solved the mystery though – it must be flea bites – and the boy will soon be rid of them & get his appetite back!!!
Oh buggar, he’s limping tonight. Seems to be one of his front paws. He is trying to drive me absolutely insane and it’s working.
He may have hurt his foot, I noticed it immediately after he jumped down off the couch. Pretty sure there was nothing before that. He can walk on it and it gets better when he’s heading for the kitchen for a treat.
I’ll see what it’s like tomorrow. So far, I’m pretty sure it’s only the one foot, in which case I’ll be assuming he did hurt it and give it a day or so before throwing a full blown panic attack. If its more, I’ll be ringing the vet I guess.
Fingers and back paws crossed – we’ll leave the front poor alone for now.
Love Vally & hop-a-long.
- <b style=”-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;”>Hi Vally. You poor girl. And poor little Bingo. Goodness. I love the part where he perks up walking toward treats! As usual, through all the deli as, you have us smiling.
