- Polyarthritis back?
Well we survived the night. Bingo had a good night. I’m exhausted not having slept well, worried about him. Every twitch he made, ever snore, every movement.
I decided to keep the window open to keep the room cooler last night. Of course that meant at 1.00 am Bingo smells fresh cat poo out the front and he’s off. There is no way he’s having ANY cat poo. I wait until he finds it and then there’s a battle but I win the prize – a bag of cat poo!!! I managed to get him back inside with the promise of a biscuit, which he got and he settled after that.
Poor dad, he pretends not to care and worry about Bingo, saying I worry too much (which I do!!!), but first thing he said this morning was “How was Bingo last night”.
I’ve made an appointment with the local vet to have his ear checked. It hasn’t spread but the pimples have sharp heads, so I’m wondering if they are postules Sheena. Better to have them looked at.
I’m at work now. I’m so tired though. Going to be a long day.
Hi Vally
Phew! Glad nothing untoward happened last night, apart from the cat pooh incident (little monkey). If the pimples look pustule-like, have grown & have got heads now, I think you’re very wise to check with the vets – at least you’ll know what on earth they are & can do something about it. When their immune system is compromised, of course everything is a worry in case it gets worse & I promise I would be exactly the same. Good luck at the Vets – let us know how you get on when you get a chance.
Sheena, Worzel & Ollie (waiting in bed for their biscuits right now)
Fingers crossed no more excitement.
Vet here thinks it looks like an insect bite. She was pretty sure it wasn’t an infection of any sort and not staph. I’m just to keep an eye on it and come back if (blagh blagh blagh) – I’m hearing that a lot lately.
She said she could give me a cream, but that would probably be more for my benefit than Bingos. I was brave and said no cream.
Brigitte, Sheena, thanks for jumping in so quickly and holding my hand. Seriously, all my friends and family think I’m nuts and paranoid (no doubt I am), but you guys, and the others here, all understand.
Lots of love, Vally & no more incident Bingo. Or else Aunties Brigitte and Sheena are gonna come over and smack you Bingo!!!
Vally, don’t think that the paranoia will ever go away. That is who we are now:) Crazy paranoid dog women!
I am glad Bingo is doing good and hopefully those bumps are healing up soon. And of course right away I am thinking again (have we talked paranoia?) What kind of bites could they be? mosquitoes? do you have to worry about heart worm? snakes? heaven forbid ! or fleas? See now even I am paranoid about Bingo. For me it transfers to all those lovely furry creatures:)
Best wishes, Brigitte
So sorry to hear Bingo is having such a rough few days. Hope everything is good, and that his skin is clearing up. Poor little guy (and mommy too!). What is it about computers and our pups? Mine tries to sit on the keyboard when she sees me typing, and will push her little head between me and the screen licking my face the whole time.
Hi Vally. I am missing do much here as I tend to rely way too much on my iPhone for communication and I am not able to post from my iPhone on this site (Patrice is working though this, with the other gazillion things – bless her). iPad seems fine though, interesting.
I am SO glad you e-mailed me. I feel horrible about you and Bingo going through this.
In reading all this, I think it may have been a seizure. If so, it happens so fast, there is no time to grab, point and film. It is over fast.
I know this first hand.
Also, first hand, there is really nothing you can do while it’s going on, except to be sure he does not hurt himself. This may be a one time occurrence. And as Sheena said, the warm weather can possibly play a role.
You are the best fur mom! Bingo is
the luckiest of pups – you are SO on top of it all.
Try to get some sleep. I’m sending you another e-mail – hope what I say in it helps relieve some of your
angst.
Love and hugs, Linda and Sadie
Hi Vally, I hope Bingo is doing ok. I’m afraid I don’t have any practical help to give but I am following things and hoping he is ok. I think Brigitte was dead right in her description of how IMHA makes us. Maybe this site should be called “crazy paranoid dog people”…! Take care and hope you are managing to get some rest when you’re not at work – horrible to have to leave them and spend the whole time worrying about them. Hugs to you both.
