- Interpreting blood work…
Hi, Would anyone be able to help me figure out what exactly I’m looking at with Maggie’s blood work? I finally received copies of her medical records but don’t really understand much of the blood work results except what the vet tells me.
Also, beside having a CBC each week to monitor counts should I request any additional testing periodically, to make sure her liver is OK and see if she has any reticulytes, or does this show up on the CBC results?
Finally, where would I post test results?
Thank you!!

Hi Jen & that miss cutie pie Maggie
Put your scanned blood tests on the urgent advice page & they will be sent to all the moderators by e-mail;
https://www.secondchanceaihadogs.com/urgent-advice/
& I will have a look tomorrow morning for you – it depends on the individual vets how the results are shown, but my vets always did a separate test for reticulocytes – just send whatever you have & we can help you with that. It is not easy to get your head around the tests to start with, so don’t worry – we will do our best to explain them. CBCs usually include liver enzymes. Speak soon!
