- Hi Sheena!!!! Hi everyone from me&Camilla!
Hi Sheena! Hi Everyone! how are you and your lovely dogs? Camilla is fine! always on the low values of RBC’s normal range but fine. she is still without meds, she plays, she runs, she guards the gardens, every saturday morning we go to the dog-swimming pool and she has a lot of fun. she did the vaccine of leptospirosis on 3rd may but i haven’t seen anything unusual, strange or different in her or her behavior…however on 30 may she has the control with the hematologist. i’ll upload some photos…. is it possible to upload also a video? Sheena i’ve seen Worzel in the photos on the right….he is absolutely amazing!!!! is he a galgo? i love him!!!!! :)

Hello you two!
So lovely to hear Camilla is doing really great – I really wouldn’t give any vaccines again though because of the risk of triggering a relapse – sorry, Eleonora. Sorry to be “scary”. I should have told you before that we don’t recommend any vaccines at all.
You can upload photos for sure (& videos I thinkbut not too long as it slows the site right down)
Thanks for saying nice things about my boy -Worzel isn’t a Galgo, but he’s the British equivalent – a dumped in the road, unwanted, starving (horrendously thin) hound no longer of use. At least he hadn’t been beaten or hurt, unlike our other dog Ollie, who is still very frightened of sudden movement even now. Nasty people everywhere. Thank goodness we meet all the nice people on here!
Did you see https://www.secondchanceaihadogs.com/forums/topic/medical-id-tag/
It made me think of your idea – I think you both should talk about this.
Good luck with the test in a couple of weeks – hope Camilla will continue to make wonderful progress & that we’ll hear from you as often as you have time to chat
Much love & big hugs to you both
Sheena, Worzel (a bit stiff & creaky sometimes) & Ollie (always a happy boy)

Oh my, thus is wonderful to read!!! We need to hear about the successes – just make me smile huge!!!! She is absolutely beautiful!!! Radiant!!!!
Love, Linda and Sadie
Hi Girls! I know that should not be made vaccines and i have spoken with both, the hematologist and our vet, who told me – I quote – “if the dog contracted leptospirosis, she dies.” I know that our vet is absolutely disinterested because he is a friend of our family and to treat camilla he not ask me any money. so that Camilla does or doesn’t the vaccines, becomes ill or not, for him doesn’t change anything. Now we live in the countryside, there are ditches near our house and fallow fields, there is a woods above our house, and a little river, so we think there is also the risk of leptospirosis. Camilla is a retriever and I think she should live as much as possible like a retriever, maybe a little bit more controlled, but should not make life of the apartment dog, always lying on the couch or under a glass bell …. this would not be a happy life for her. we don’t do any other vaccine, only the leptospirosis and under strict control only for a matter risks / benefits. I didn’t do the leptospirosis vaccine light-hearted:I thought about it for a long time and i’m still worried. i control three times a day her mouth and eyes and if I think I see something strange I make her play to test how she is strong. ’till now, everything seems ok. i’ll let you know about the control with the hematologist. fingers crossed! ;)
PS Sheena…about the tag….i wanna buy this:
http://pspettags.com/i-have-imha-dog-tag-for-dogs/
We have also attached to the collar of camilla a lapa: https://findlapa.com it’s a small gps….if we lose her we can locate her by my husband’s mobile phone
Eleonora,
I checked out this Lapa tag, it sounded too good to be true for that price. It is only good for 200 feet/70 meters. Well if a dog runs away, I don’t think that will do. I chatted with a representative of the company and she said it would alert you that the dog runs away. In my case I know when my dog runs away:P So it is still important to work on a reliable recall. I think this is a good device for lost keys or what have you, but for your dog it is not that useful.
Cheers Brigitte
