- Babesiosis in the UK
As per usual the info is not that great. Always use a proper tick puller & follow the instructions, making sure the tick is completely removed i.e. the head is not left in your pet. Make sure you protect your dogs/cats with a preventative such as Frontline & take yor dog straight to the vet if you suspect infection. It is important to treat this immediately. Here in France, it’s called Piroplasmose (piroplasmosis) & to us English, Tick Fever. We have a vaccination called Pirodog, but it’s not 100% effective. It is different ftom the USA versions, but still deadly. More (basic) info here : https://www.frenchentree.com/living-in-france/pets/tick-fever-in-dogs/

We all have different dangers from diseases, depending on where we live in the world – well worth reading.
More news on the potential spread of this disease in the UK – huge thanks to Jill’s son (Snoopy’s fur Mum) for finding this for us
