- Ashki is gone
Wanted to let you all know that Ashki lost his fight today and has crossed the Bridge. Thank you all so very much for your care and all the wonderful information you provided — I know it extended his time with me and his quality of life and for that I will always be grateful. Wishing you all the very best.
Love,
Tamara

I am the breeze that flows
softly around golden grains
I am sweetness
On warm toast
I am a sunset
Full of promise
I am your Ashki
Remember me
Tamara, my dear friend, my heart goes out to you. There is no-one like you in the entire world – you gave everything you had to get Ashki better & he had a great amount of quality time because of your guts & determination. He put up one huge fight against this evil disease. I cannot put into words how sorry & sad I am. I know you have a broken heart in which Ashki will always have a place.
Love, hugs & deepest sympathy
Sheena
My dear PSS — you know how I feel about beautiful sweet handsome Sir Ashki and you. If you need anything at all, please let me know. He is with you… and all of us really… forever! You gave him the best life he could ever have, and he is now free of earthly restrictions. I truly believe you will see him again one day.

Dear Tamara,
I am totally numb, just can’t believe it. You and Ashki gave it your all and still it was not meant to be. I wish I could give you a gentle hug. Ashki will always be remembered he has left his mark in your and our hearts. I hope that the wonderful memories of your special friend will heal your broken heart in time.
Please accept my deepest sympathy,
Brigitte
Dear Tamara, I am so very very sorry to hear this. Ashki was such a beautiful gorgeous dog and yes he’ll always be remembered. You fought one of the most difficult battles in this wretched disease and you stole many many more days from it. I’ll never ever forget that wonderful funny dog in that video of the toy grab. That just says it all, such a joyous happy dog. I hope you can find peace.
Know that he was very special and being very special deserved a very special mum, and he found that. He’ll be looking out for you now.
Hugs and my deepest sympathy,
Vally
Oh Tamara – my heart is crushed for you. No one fought harder and consistently than you. Hexes the luckiest of pups to have your love and devotion.
Sending much love and deepest, heartfelt condolences. Linda
Thank you, so very much. Your words mean so much to me — and for adding the picture/graphic and poem, it is so beautiful and so touching.
You all know this fight and how awful it is. I’ve said it before, I wouldn’t wish it on anyone, but here we are, survivors of this war, scarred and limping together. I am grateful for all of you.
Cherish every moment and hug your four-leggeds — for me and for Ashki.

Dear Tamara,
you are so right, survivors of this war, scarred and limping… I guess you know that our story is very similar to yours, so I think I have a pretty good idea how you feel. Kahlu recovered, had a wonderful time after we were able to lower the drugs, but then almost exactly a year after diagnosis he relapsed and died. Please read his story under our stories and also, if you feel like it, go to “the bridge”. It might help, I hope so. The healing is different for everybody, I hope you find what works for you. Please stay here and maybe help people that have gone through the same crushing experience?
I will always remember how Kahlu swam with me on a beautiful, crisp Fall morning. Not a care in the world just joy and happiness. I will also never forget the video you posted of Ashki collecting toys! Same thing, just joy and happiness for your special boy. He had a wonderful life because of you! Your life has changed and has seen so much joy because of him.
Take care,
Love Brigitte
