- Shih Tzu Diagnosed With AIHA
Suzie, what a sweetie Emily is… she just melts my heart. Oh… how we I understand your worry and concern’s. I smiled and I shed a tear while reading through your post’s on Emily. So glad to hear the pcv is heading up as Sheena said going up no matter how small the up’s are always so thankful for that. You sure are right they are family not dog’s to our heart but our funny silly little fur children( it seems our fur children look more human than like dog’s, huh?)how we love them so. My sister has a little old man shih Tzu named kyi he’s the most sweetest little man.and the little baby what a cute baby too. My little girl Hayley at age 7.9 years was hit with Imha… IT was a long struggle of many up’s and many-many down’s before we ever got to a safe place… my little girl couldn’t stand alone she was that very weak… but never would I give up being a very tiny little Chihuahua I couldn’t find a sling to help her stand to wee or boo to be blunt she layed and chewed on toy’s and a deer antler because she didn’t have the strength to get up the wasting of her back legs due to prednisone and the panting and did she ever want water … so I had to be there for her for her every need as she couldn’t get up to even get water…but … Hayley is now 11 years old and runs and plays like the wind…. even these tiny mights can win the battle of IMHA … a disease I had never heard of …. until it hit home. Everyone here pulled me through and the support was so wonderful and great when I was just a train wreck… period! plus fur children is all I was ever blessed to have my husband and I could never have our own child. Hayley was our child and I understand the mess we all get in when faced with this unknowing disease… our fur children are family.. how can we not be a wreck we love them so silly for ever children fur babies… we love them so. I hope I give you hope to know no matter how sick they are they can go into remission … and … sounds like little miss Emily is doing better and that’s wonderful …although they can slide backwards but that happens before they go forward… again I am so glad you found these wonderful people on this forum . I love each of these people they are family to me.all these wonderful ladies was there for me when I needed prayers as Hayley did fighting IMHA these wonderful ladies gave me many prayer during the two heart attacks and stroke I went through years of recovery and and stress of Hayley relapse during the stress of me sick.you found the very best support team ever!!!!!!!!! WISHING Emily the very best with going up numbers and feeling like she did before this struck her little body.my best Lynn & Hayley( you can read Hayleys post … when you are up to it… to give you hope they can go into remission)
Hi Lynn!
I’m so happy to meet you!!
Ive heard such wonderful things about you. Isn’t it amazing how something so good can come from something so absolutely awful!? Meeting everyone here has been an answer to prayer.
It’s funny how our hearts can be so quickly knit together because of going through such a scary trial like this. These gals have held my hand across the miles and really, they made me feel normal for loving my little dog so much and they are so non-judgmental when I start freaking out! (And I do that a lot)
I have also been so blessed by all of their knowledge! My vet implements their counsel, adding in or changing meds according to their suggestions.
I’m sorry to hear about all you’ve been going through with your health on top of taking care of your baby girl. My goodness that’s a lot for one person to have to deal with! I’m glad you are back on here bringing hope and encouragement to those of us who are in need of it! I’d love to read up on Hayley. I think her’s must be one of the hardest battles fought that I’ve heard of so far. What a little fighter she is!! Is there a picture of her? I like putting faces and names together (both of people and their “kids”).
Thank you for the warm welcome ♡ Susie & Emily (& Sadie too)
Hi everyone! Emily is 9 years old today. I didn’t expect her to make it to her birthday but with the help of all of you she’s here and doing well! So, Happy Birthday to our little survivor!!! She’s getting spoiled today ;-)
Hi Susie
Please give your beautiful Emily a gentle birthday cuddle from Auntie Sheena. I have a feeling she is spoiled every day – and deserves it too!
Actually Susie, she has the greatest Mum – YOU have made sure she’s been very well looked after.
Loads of love & big hugs
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET EMILY

susie, wonderful news Emily’s birthday… what great and wonderful care you have given you sweet baby girl… to get her to 42%. yes… to reduce too soon isn’t god and then very slow and easy with many checks. when that time came to reduce … I was so worried to reduce… even as much as I dislike all those meds. happy! happy! birthday Emily… I am happy for you Susie that Emily fought and is fighting this disease lynn & hayley
