- Sadie – Weaning…..
Linda doesn’t have computer access and wanted me to post for her:
I wanted to let you all know that Sadie’s CBC results came back normal. Great news! We are convinced it was the massive oak (male tree) pollen. I have been keeping her in mostly, and the brief times outside, I rinse her paws. This seems to help.
She’s loving having Olivia (2 1/2) and William (8 months) here this week, but misses having me to herself. My spoiled girl.
Ah that is brilliant news! Thanks for updating us Patrice, and way to go Sadie! How strange about the pollen. Isn’t it incredible what affects these critters? In some respects they are so robust, and in others, so sensitive. Last week we had a cloud of Sahara dust and pollution here in the UK. It was quite strange, but Mable was undeterred from her usual antics.
Well done Sadie. So pleased to hear about the CBC and enjoy the visitors :)
Mary & Mable x
Thanks Mary and thanks for posting for me Patrice (like you need another thing to do!?!).
We’re good and staying in still except for the absolutely necessary potty breaks.
We’ll again this coming week, but a low change from 6.25mg (5 in am and 1.25 in pm) to 6.0 mg (5 and 1). I’ll stay there for a month or so and then to 5.0mg in morning only.
So far, so good. PCV on Monday. here’s hoping continued good news. :)
Love to all, Linda and Sadie
Hi, Dunes was on 5 mg. Of prednisone daily and 50 mg. Atopica for years. Short term O think it is fine nut the Atopica.was.what hurt her bone marrow. However Dunes lasted much longer even though she was never in complete remission. Hope this helps. Are you seeing improvement?
Joe
Hi all. PCV tomorrow am. She’s now on 6mg of pred a day, 5mg in the am and 1mg in the pm and continuing with the 10mg of Atopica. I agree Joe, the Atopica can get them.
She’s doing well so far. Anxious to see tomorrow’s PCV results. Glad there’s not a wait like with the CBC. :)
We’re still pretty much quarantined inside the house, as the pollen is still everywhere. We’ve had some rains, but need more to knock it all down and wash it away. She does go out in the screened area and walks around the pool, sits to watch the squirrels, birds and ducks (she loves watching the new little baby ducks) just outside the screened area at the bird feeders.
She seems to be much more social – this is all new in the last month or so. I think the weaning has been overdue and so glad that we’re getting to that lower maintenance dose (what ever that may be, the 24k question!). Here’s to continued wellness!
I hope you and your pups are all hanging in – you are ALL my treasured friends.
Love and hugs, Linda and Sadie
Hi Mary. Thanks for asking. Sadie is doing very well. Her PCV is holding, thank goodness.
How are you two girls doing? I had lunch with a few friends the other day and one lady, has a cat that has some renal issues. She’s feeding him vet food. When she told me about the ‘vet’ (almost) food, I almost fainted and I know the look on my face was scary. Why anyone today still does that is beyond me – Purina, Science Diet – please, no. She asked my advice. Hmmmm….. okay, I was nice. I told her I’d investigate and send her some links AND ask YOU. :)
What are you feeding Mable? She’s pretty good about organic for herself, so she may be open to making the food……
