Just had fantastic news from the vet, her PCV is 27!!!! So she’s got herself up from 18 with no transfusion so she is regenerating! There’s some damaged cells still, but the meds seem to be suppressing her immune system enough that she is making new cells quicker than she’s killing them. She needs observation still, but if she keeps it up she might be able to come home on Friday!!! Still a way to go before they want to try weaning her off everything, but having her home will be AMAZING!!!! Best news EVER!!!!! Xxxxxxx
Hi Ruth!
This just makes my day! How wonderful! You will see once you get Nula home she will do even better. You will have to get ready for her, by getting a calendar where you put in all the medications and also some pill boxes. I remember that was suggested to me and I thought, really do they think I am an idiot? I will remember. But trust me you want a calendar with big spaces where you can record EVERYTHING and the pill boxes are a must to be organized.
Keep us posted, I am so happy for you!
Brigitte
Hiya Ruth!
Fantastic! That is so good to hear. I can’t tell you how happy I am for you – I bet you can’t wait to get her back home with you. She’ll improve no end, She is going to have one big appetite & will need feeding more often because of the drugs. I reckon Worzel was eating 3 or 4 times more than his usual just to keep his weight up!
Brigitte is right – charts & pillboxes will be your life for quite a long time. When she is completely stable, slow, slow weaning is the way to avoid any further problems. But so what? At least she’ll be back with her Mum, where she belongs.
Give your girl a hug from me & the boys
Love Sheena, Worzel & Ollie xxxx
Ruth you’ve made my day. I was hoping for a good PCV but instead you got a great PCV. When you get your meds and doses I’d be very happy to make up a chart for you. Email me if ypu’d like one. vallyone@hotmail.com
Ruth – the BEST news ever!!! I am grinning huge! Just in, have been running around ALL day and bee-lined for the iPad to see if you had posted. Wow!!!! Did you ever!!! I am blown away – so very happy for you and your precious (happy) Nula. Love the pic – agree, she definitely smiling for her mom!!!
Yes, calendar (daily meds) and either med box or I use little med plastic bags (from drug store) . All was recommended to me too, and it helped so much. It’s a process, but you’ll catch on. We’re here to walk you through it (they all here certainly did that for me). :)
Enjoy you evening – I will with this news!!! Thanks for letting us know. More pics? ;)
Lots of love and congratulations hugs!
