I need some honest advise

Thank you for the chart… It’s perfect.
My Rocky is a cutie thank you. He does need a hair cut it was supposed to be last week.
Rocky is hanging in there and is panting a lot which is making me nervous I know its a side effect of the meds but it breaks my heart.

Hi Kelli,
your Rocky is sure a little heart stealeer! You are right, the panting is a side effect of the prednisone and I understand that it worries you. The prednisone makes Rocky’s metabolism go into over drive. He is hot and always hungry. You might notice that he is looking for cool spots on the floor, like tile or cement. If your climate is hot and you don’t have air conditioning, you could try and drape a cool, wet towel over Rocky. His hunger will seem constant and it is very important that you do not feed him fatty foods. If you do, an other side effect of the prednisone is a tendency to get pancreatitis. You definitely want to avoid that.
So take a deep breath Kelli, you are doing a great job!
