- Dallas the Morkie – IMHA outpatient on meds
Rotisserie chicken!!! The kind from the super market. Even the pups who give up at the rescue will rally for that chicken. I swear it has magic in it. If he doesn’t eat it you can! So no loss there. It’s delicious.
Best of luck

Dallas is absolutely gorgeous, and wow, chess, what can I say, much more intelligent than most – Bingo thinks he’s special because he can sometimes find treats that I hide for him (if I’m pointing in the general direction and sometimes give him a push).
Absolutely agree with Sheena. Famotidine should not be given with other meds, pred always with food and I’d also encourage you to ask for sucralfate. That is absolutely a magic drug.
I’m going to have a fiddle with a chart, but yes it would be good to add in sucralfate which, again, needs to be away from other meds.

Wow, thank you all SO much for all of the information!
Vally, thank you sooo much for emailing me over the medication chart! That will definitely come in handy for us!
It is so strange that our vet never mentioned anything about taking the famotidine 2 hours apart from the other medications. I have a long list of questions from all of the advice you have all provided to go over with my vet tomorrow! We need a refill of cyclosporin and would like to do another RBC count to see where we’re at.
Dallas seemed to be in great spirits yesterday evening when I got home from work. He even mounted his sister Clover’s face (which we haven’t seen in while)! Although it’s a dominance thing, it’s great to see him with the energy to do that. Clover seemed happy that he was paying attention to her as well.
We’ve been trying to separate the two so that Dallas can pick as his food when he feels like eating but it’s hard when we’re in a small condo. He had a bit of an appetite this morning (I fed him some chicken and one of those Caesar’s wet food packages). He didn’t eat much but he seemed excited when I brought it out. 2 hours after the cyclosporin, he puked again (like clockwork). His gums look a lot more pink this morning, and his ears were even a little darker! We were very excited that things were looking better, until he puked :(
I will send an update tomorrow, and will definitely try the rotisserie chicken! Sounds delicious for both Dallas and I!!
Hi Amy
Great to hear Dallas is lively & interested in food (& hanky panky!!!). Oh, and pink gums are our favourite subject on here.
How about trying the cyclosporine with food if you haven’t tried that already? I think some rotisserie chicken would go down perfectly with all of you!
Please do let us know how he’s doing. You always have the option of some Cerenia if he’s still puking – that needs to stop so he absorbs all those wonderful medications properly!
Love & hugs

Hi Sheena,
On our discharge papers, the vet stated that the cyclosporine should be taken on an empty stomach (a meatball or pill pocket is okay). I will bring up the puking issue after taking it and see if she’ll give the go-ahead to administer it with food!

YAY for pink Gums! We love hearing that! You little guy is so cute! I am glad he is continuing to do well. You are all in my prayers.
