Meghan, that is just the very best news. It’s true, they don’t do any of the worrying, they leave all that up to us.
I’m with Sheena, keep the reductions slow. Bingo relapsed twice, so I’m all for ultra conservative reductions. Going down to 1 tablet a day is the maximum recommended. Me, being me, would probably do 1 and a quarter tablets for a few weeks before cutting down to 1 tablet daily, but if you do do the 1 tablet daily, don’t rush the next reduction. Keep Gabby on that dose for a while before attempting the next drop.
Do you need a new chart made up???
Megan, I am so sorry you and Gabby are faced with this disease… so very glad you found these wonderful ladies who give the most wonderful support. I could not have gone through this on my own … but … with all the wonderful support. YES, so many questions as why I so understand… I had never heard of this awful disease. Brigitte and Vally couldn’t have said it better. I know I was so afraid to be alone with my Hayley but I too wanted her home. as Vally said many side effects from the prednisone but it saves lives. I about had a heart attack because she started panting so hard one night… called the climic they had forgotten to tell me about that side effect and they did tell me she would drink ALOT… that Hayley did… most of the time they never find the reason the fur child gets this disease.. with Hayley it was her yearly shots. We just can’t beat our self up for the reason… and, yes I know you get very tired from worry and that’s where these wonderful ladies come in… they will give you such wonderful support. Vally, Brigitte,Sheena, Patrice, Linda, and many more… these ladies are the best.My Hayley was 7 years old when hit with this disease… now Hayleyis 11 years old when hit her PCV was only 8% before her transfusion for a few months Hayley stayed in low 20’s … I hope this gives you hope a little chi with PCV at 8% now these many years latter is doing well running and playing. and Hayley couldn’t even stand up or walk for quite some time in the start she was very weak… they do and can pull through this. my very best wishes for you and sweet Gabby. Lynn & Hayley
