- Life after Louis
Hi everyone, I wanted to let you know how things have been with us since losing Louis on the 5th Sept..
Olga hasn’t been fairing too well, she stopped eating and was pacing round the house trying to find Louis, of course we were all trying to come to terms with Louis not being here, but we needed to help Olga, she was becoming very depressed. so 3 weeks on we have a new member of the family called Troy.
It’s strange how things happen, the day Louis died (5th Aug) Pam at FOND was contacted by Troy’s original owners. They had had him from a puppy, but the wife was about to give birth and Troy was being left on his own for 10 hours a day, plus he was too big and bouncy. They asked if FOND would find him another forever home, Pam always gives people a week to think about their decision (unless the dog is in danger then she just takes them in) a week later they signed him over. (12th Aug)
Pam has a foster family 15 miles from her home, so Troy was taken there for assessment, Pam likes all the dogs to spent at least a week with Dod so he can make sure they don’t have anger issues, they are a lovely couple and all FONDS dogs that need to be in a home environment spend some time at Karolyn and Dods house, who even have a spare bedroom just for the dogs, that has a sofa, a TV, radio and big bed in it. It better than some hotels we’ve been in hahaha. They were only able to have him for 2 weeks because they were going away.
Whilst Troy was coming under FONDS care, we had no idea about him, Pam put Troy on her website the day after I had booked another week off work because I wasn’t concentrating, and with my hubby being self employed getting time off was going to be impossible for months, but then his customer asked him to delay work for 1 week which meant he had the same week as me off, then Pam posted about Troy!
We went to meet Troy on the Saturday 27th in the afternoon, and spent a good couple of hours with him/ We took him out for a walk and a play with Olga and everything went well, we arranged for him to come to our caravan for a sleep over the next day, and that night John had an amazing dream.
In his dream Olga had heard some people outside of our caravan and she ran out to have a bark at them, there were 4 men outside and they started to run at Olga, so she barked for John to help her, as he ran outside he turned back to the caravan and said “Well come on then and help us” and Troy AND Louis came running out.
John said he felt like Louis was telling him it was ok to take Troy home we had his blessing. That was only the second time John had dreamt of Louis since he died.
Everything just seems to fall into place, it was like it was meant to be, we could never have planned this even if we tried.
Troy was sent for a reason I truly believe that.
I’ve attached a photo
