- This has been a long road
Things seem to be going down hill for us. Willows white blood count is almost nonexistent now. So we have to stop the Mycophenolate as cyclosporine and rely on pred only. She is now on clavamox to ward off any infection. The specialist is thinking she has Bone Marrow cancer and wants to do a biopsy. She has another blood draw in a few weeks… one step at a time…
Hi, Patrice is in training at the moment, but asked me to let you know that this is the same as her Chance’s condition.
She advises you need to start Dr Dodds IMHA and bone marrow failure protocol. This is the link:

It’s the third item on that page.
If it were me, I would ask your vets to do a consult with Dr Dodds. This is her speciality. You could do it yourself if you like, and do an Owners Consultation. The second link of that page is for an owners consult. I did this with Bingo. It’s very cost effective, as you only pay for the one consult and then you can email her back with any further questions and she responds very quickly and you are dealing directly with a specialist.
My very best, Vally
Keeping everything crossed for you both.

I forwarded that to my vet and I have started it at home already. It really isn’t much different then what we have been doing…dropping the Mycophenolate. I hope this post because I have tried for a few days and it doesn’t seem to want to work and Vally ..you have been so helpful. Willow seems to be doing really well the last few days, it has been difficult trying to keep her from playing rough with our husky…and she loves to play rough with him. (Knock on wood) every time I think she is getting better it always ends up the opposite. She is currently sitting here giving me the eyeball because she knows it is almost time for her breakfast…she has a built in timer I swear. Her next apt is Sat. I will keep you updated
Hi, I think Willow is doing better. Dogs are amazing in that they show how they are feeling, so it’s a really GOOD sign. They’re not like us in that they worry about things.
Tell Willow Auntie Vally says stop playing rough and no eyeballing mum.
Good luck on Saturday.

PS – no, don’t you just love attitude !!!
We ended up having put her to sleep this morning. Her poor litle body just couldn’t take it anymore. I am thankful we had a week where she was felling good and played like a puppy. Just about the hardest thing I ever had to do.
I am so so sorry. Some dogs just can’t fight it, no matter how much we fight for them. She was so young. I know you’re heartbroken and lost right now and I wish I could just give you a hug.
When it’s the time, have a look at The Bridge. It was written by a lady who’s dog also didn’t make it. Its beautifully written. Now may not be the time, but when you feel ready, please read it.

Again, I’m so sorry. My deepest condolences.
